Aroused Will Do More Than Arouse You
Deborah Anderson’s documentary focuses on 16 famous porn stars
in the industry right now that people are familiar with (that is if you are a
frequent visitor or subscriber of adult entertainment).
They pose for some rather intimate photo shoots (without doubt) and later have some deep personal conversations with the photographer, revealing their backgrounds, their ambitions and how they ended up doing porn in the first place.

Porn stars, unequivocally, are stereotyped in society
nowadays. People assume they wanted to be Hollywood actresses and then
something went horribly wrong in the process, that they had some grave parental
issues or that they generally are a promiscuous bunch of sex craving adults.
The documentary allows these adult film stars to illuminate their side of the
story, why they got into porn and the status of their personal lives (oh yes,
they have one, contrary to popular belief).
Porn star Kayden Kross had this to say about her life in the
movie, ““I didn't get into [porn] because I was desperate; I got into it
because I was bored. I had an education, and nothing else appealed to me like
this. I’m not going to lie or be ashamed. I like the money. I like perks. I
like ... sex! I was always a very sexual person, and this offered me an
opportunity to make a pretty good living using that. What I wanted to do far
outweighed any worries I might have had about what people thought.”
Ok, Kross doesn't make the best argument for the movie,
focusing on the more familiar reasons for doing porn, but the other performers
had more to say, as the trailer is sure to explain. “Aroused” may do more than
arouse you. It gives the people doing porn to tackle the prejudices they face.
We all love money, we all love sex. I’d say that it’s a good combination, but
only a handful of brave men and women can truly embrace that fact and say it
out loud and follow that path without any embarrassment. The only difference is
that they do it in front of the camera while we do it behind closed doors. And
I’m sure all of us have had some pleasure and entertainment by seeing the dirty
deed on tape on our computer screens. You might have opened up a tab to search
for Kayden Kross pictures right now. The movie may help change your mind and
hopefully garner some new found respect for adult film performers. Let’s not be
hypocritical when we may share their ideologies and thoughts deep down.
