The Bourne Legacy: Navigating the Labyrinth

The Bourne Legacy Review

If you ever went to high school, you should be able to recall how you felt when you stared a complicating math question involving vectors or quadratic equations. Words and phrases that come to my mind are mind-numbing, backbreaking and painful.  The first 40 minutes of The Bourne Legacy are the same. Words such as Treadstone and Blackbriar invade your thoughts, and you don’t remember them, because the last Bourne movie you saw was in 2007. I was exhausted trying to jog my memory that I gave up watching the movie on some days.

Hansel and Gretel: WTF?

Hansel and Gretel is a Genre Bending Movie

Hansel and Gretel stars Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arteton as the titular characters of the movie. At first sight, it seems to have a good plot twist which extends the classic tale rather convincingly, where the siblings exact revenge on all witches they stumble upon following their traumatizing childhood experience.

Would You Buy a Django Unchained Toy?

Django Unchained Dolls Pulled Off eBay

It seems stupidity knows no bounds. Following the cinema release of Quentin Tarantino’s latest movie, action figures portraying the on-screen characters of Django Unchained were found on shopping displays. The film stirred up an entire pot of trouble over its depiction of racism, so the idea to put these action figures on sale is bemusing, as I recall that it’s mostly children who play with dolls, action figures and toys. Imagine your child enacting a Blaxploitation scenario in the living room with Calvin Candie giving Django a good spanking.

Star Wars fans should rejoice as Abrams has an impeccable record of releasing critically acclaimed movies and TV series. We would have hoped that Arnold Schwarzenegger's big screen return would have been met with great enthusiasm and anticipation, but the weekend box office figures for his latest movie paint a different picture. It grossed just $6.3mn over the weekend and took 9th place.

Jack Reacher: Does appearance matter?

Jack Reacher is a fictional character in Lee Child's most renown series of novels. He is described as being 6'5", with a 50 inch chest and weighing between 210 and 250 pounds. He also has dirty blonde hair.

So when Tom Cruise was cast as the former military police corps major there would have been massive public disapproval from the fans of the series, which was the case. He stands at an unimpressive 5'7" and has nothing even close to resembling dirty blonde hair.

Star Wars Episodes 7-9: Best way to go?

Star Wars Episodes 7-9: Best way to go?

Following Disney's acquisition of Lucasfilm, came the news that a new sequel trilogy for Star Wars is under way. What is going to happen? Will it feature Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Princess Leia? Will they be old enough to be our grandparents or will the movies follow right off A New Hope?  What will have happened to the Jedi? At the end of A New Hope, it was apparent that Luke was one of the last remaining Jedi.
